Database Uploaded

I want to thank those people who have emailed me or posted comments the past few months. I was able to help some people, but more importantly, you were able to help me by providing me with more research material. I did upload the database today, which has been cleaned up (an ever-present job) and added to as well.

The surnames that got some work (some but not too much) were: Gamache, Belanger & Guyon-Dion. You can easily see all those people in either phpGedView or Retrospect-GDS. For a quick overview of a surname and its members, I would start with Retrospect and then move into phpGedview.

Keep those emails/comments coming!

Steve Rock

New Primary Source

I was perusing Ancestry.com today and came across a neat document that I have added onto the site. I have a document that shows Almeric Saurette’s family listed on a manifest for entry into the United States. I knew that they came into this country from Quebec in December of 1907, but I didn’t have any other information about that.

Well, now I have it. You can access the new information directly off of Almeric’s Page or take the quick-n-easy way here.

Morier Issue

Okay, I had to do some fixing today and this was due to an e-mail that I received. It turns out that I had made a mix-up with Desire Morier and his wives. I had him listed as having only 2 wives and his son, also Desire Morier, having 2 waves as well. Upon further review, it turns out that Desire Sr. was married 3 times and his son once. I had the 3rd wife attached to his son. I have since fixed the issue in question and uploaded the database this evening to reflect the changes. I hope this clears things up for some people. This is why I post my work to the web - for people to look at and find problems with. I haven’t done any genealogy in quite some time, and this was a refreshing change for me. Thanks to the e-mailer!

Back Up

After not having posted for a long time, I thought I should jot a quick note. I have just moved to Maine from New York - that is part of the reason for the lapse. I also haven’t really had a lot of time for genealogy and probably won’t for few weeks - my 14 month old son makes sure of that. I am still here for helping others though - send me your requests and I can see what I can do. I now have access to all my genealogy information which I had previously put into storage.
