Well, I finally did it. I have added more than 10,000 people into my genealogy database. The current count is 10,207. I think it is funny how some days the people just get added so fast and then other days I don’t add any. We shall see what happens now.
For the keen eyed folks out there – there’s a new menu option on the main page of Saurette.com: Reports. For fun, I have created some pages that have my ancestors listed along with a PDF file of all of the person’s descendants that I have on file. I will most likely add a little more, but it was something that I thought added some neat perspective on things. When it says: great-great-grandfather, that means mine even though I am not in the database. I will run into trouble the further back I go since the number of great-grandfathers doubles every generation. I haven’t really decided what to do about that, if anything.

It usually takes a spark from some other place to get the genealogy juices flowing again. This time, that credit goes to Monica – a newfound cousin of mine. In doing some research on one of her surnames, I decided to finally plow thru some parish records and record any new Oligny information. I went thru the St-Remi records that I have and found a bunch of new stuff that is now in the database.
The Oligny descendant report that was 10 pages long is now 12 pages long. You can check that out here, if you like.
I have uploaded the database twice today to reflect the most recent activity that has taken place. I have a feeling that if I were to travel up to St-Remi today, that there would still be plenty of Oligny’s there who are my relatives. Oh, the joy of genealogy.

I have posted Philorum Oligny’s death certificate for perusal. There are some issues with data not matching, but I’ll be working on that this March. Other than that, I’m changing around the file structure for tidier editing. There should not be any noticeable difference with the site except for the path for some image and .pdf files.
