BELCHERTOWN - Richard E. Rock, 73, passed from death into Life with the Lord on Tues., July 1. Born in Chicopee, September 5, 1929, he was the son of the late Gideon and Anna (Saurette) Rock. Mr. Rock grew up in Holyoke and has lived inBelchertown since 1989. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 35 years, Marlene, along with his devoted children, four daughters, Karen Rock and her fiance Rudy Martinez of Chicopee, Marianne Landry and her husband Roy, Melissa Kotowski and herhusband Michael, and Susan Sullivan and her husband Harry, all of Belchertown, along with his three sons, Jeffrey and his wife Mary of Meriden, CT, Michael and his wife Dolores of Springfield, and Richard Rock, Jr. of Belchertown. He also will be sadly missed by his 8 cherished grandchildren, Eric, Lauren, Jamie, Michael, Amy, Keith, Brian and Jenna. His passion for sharing music with people prompted him to be the co-founder of the Belchertown Senior Center Band. He returned to his workwith volunteer missions innursing homes, schools and shut-ins. A deeply religious man, Richard attended the Belchertown Congregational Church. Richard was a former member of the Elks 1849 in Chicopee and the K of C, Fairview Council 4044. He wasa 30 year employee of Curtis Business Forms in Holyoke before retiring in 1985. Funeral services will be Monday, July 7 at 2:30p.m. in the Belchertown Congregational Church, Park St. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Beers& Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple St. (Rte. 202). In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made in his memory to the Belchertown Senior Center Band, c/o Senior Center, 60 State St., 01007.
